| The UKMTO have reported that a cargo vessel has been approached by an unidentified skiff whilst transiting approximately 98nm Southwest of Al Mukalla, Yemen (exact position not specified). UPDATE 01: Closed sources have reported that the skiff approached to approximately 100 meters from the vessel. The alert was raised onboard and the crew secured themselves inside the safe room/citadel. Communication with the vessel was subsequently lost. It is reported that the sea pirates boarded the vessel but subsequently may have disembarked. UPDATE 02: The MSCIO have reported that the vessel's Company Security Officer (CSO) reported that the vessel was approached by an armed boat with approximately six persons onboard, the crew proceeded to the citadel as a precautionary security measure. Subsequently, and following a search of the vessel, it was confirmed that no pirates or unauthorized persons were found onboard. The situation has been resolved, and all crew members are reported safe and well. | |||||
