Open-sources have reported that U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) completed its sixth consecutive night of strikes against Iranian military targets at 0140 UTC on 17 July 2026. U.S. forces, including fighter jets, unmanned aerial vehicles, and warships, launched precision munitions targeting dozens of Iranian military sites including maritime capabilities, coastal surveillance, air defence installations and military logistics infrastructure. Iranian media have reported that five bridges were struck in the latest wave of U.S. attacks, along with the train station in the coastal city of Bandar Khamir and Iranshahr Airport in southeastern Iran. The state-run IRNA news agency reported that seven people were killed in U.S. attacks on bridges in Bandar Khamir, a port city in southern Iran. Iran's military announced it had attacked U.S. facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait. The Iranian Army stated that in the eleventh phase of Operation Thunderbolt, it targeted U.S. centres and bases in Bahrain using drones, specifically targeting the site of U.S. helicopters and P-8 reconnaissance aircraft deployment at Isa Air Base in Bahrain. Several explosion-like sounds were heard in the Qatari capital, Doha, and Qatar's Interior Ministry confirmed that a child was injured by shrapnel.The Iranian Army warned that the security of the homeland and its independence is a red line, and stated it will respond swiftly and firmly in proportion to aggression.
