| The Master of a Panama-flagged tanker has reported that it was attacked whilst underway approximately 104nm Southeast of Aden, Yemen. A small white skiff with four persons onboard was sighted approximately 6nm from the vessel, in the Gulf of Aden. The skiff approached and fired a Rocket-Propelled Grenade which missed the vessel. The skiff then attempted to come alongside on the starboard side. The vessel's Armed Security Team returned fire, and the skiff subsequently turned away and departed. Two AK-47 rifles were sighted onboard the skiff, however no rounds were fired from these weapons. The vessel attempted to contact the coast guard on VHF channel 16. All crew are reported safe, the vessel has sustained no damage and is continuing on her voyage. | |||||
