Open-sources have reported that Ukraine's Naval Forces struck Russian military infrastructure installed on the Syvash self-elevating drilling platform at the Holitsynske gas condensate field in the Black Sea (exact time and location not specified). The platform was being used to support drone operations against southern Ukraine. Ukraine's General Staff of the Armed Forces confirmed in a statement that on the night of 08 August 2026, Ukrainian Defence Forces struck a number of important enemy facilities as part of efforts to reduce the military and economic potential of Russian forces. The strike destroyed equipment used to support drone operations.
