| Open-sources have reported that a commercial vessel caught fire in Romania's Exclusive Economic Zone in the Black Sea. The Dominican Republic-flagged vessel was located approximately 15 nautical miles from Sfântu Gheorghe when the Romanian Naval Authority received notification of the fire a. A commercial vessel was immediately directed to the area, and Romanian sea rescue agency rescue vessels were mobilised, along with a Border Police vessel to coordinate the rescue. The 12 crew members aboard, were rescued successfully, one of the crew members was injured. Romanian President; Nicușor Dan, suggested that the vessel may have been attacked, stating "The vessel was struck and appears to have sunk, but at this point we do not know by whom, by what exactly." The President also added "An investigation will be conducted, everything will become clear, but we should not engage in speculation". | |||||
