| The MSCIO have received information regarding an incident involving a general cargo vessel 35 NM SSE of Xaafuun, Somalia. Two boats, each carrying six persons onboard, approached the vessel whilst continuously firing weapons and ordering the vessel to stop. The vessel's armed security team returned fire for approximately thirty minutes, after which both boats turned away and departed the area. The crew, armed guards, vessel, and cargo were reported safe. Operation ATALANTA is investigating the incident. | |||||
