The UKMTO have received a report from a Company Security Officer, that a tanker has been attacked whilst underway, approximately 78nm north of Fujairah, United Arab Emirates (exact position not specified). Initial reports state that the tanker was struck by unidentified projectiles. All crew are reported safe and no environmental impact has been reported. The authorities are investigating. UPDATE: The MSCIO have reported that the attack resulted in damage to the tanker's cargo hold and engine room. The report states that the crew abandoned the vessel after anchoring it and that all crew are reported safe and well.
