The MSICO have received reports from local forces that an Iranian-flagged vessel was attacked by two small craft approximately 19nm East of Kabal, Somalia. The reports state that a group of suspected pirates, departed from the Garmaal coastal area on the small craft and attempted to attack and board the vessel with the likely intention of using it as a mothership. Defensive actions taken by the target vessel prevented the boarding and the small craft retreated towards the coast. Clearwater have received further information starting that one pirate was killed and two others were injured in the incident.
