Open-sources have reported that U.S. Marines from the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit conducted a boarding on a 300,000 dwt tanker on 16 July 2026, approximately 103nm East of Duqm, Oman (exact time not specified). The operation was part of the ongoing U.S. naval blockade enforcement against Iran. Reports state that U.S. Marines used helicopters to access the deck of the vessel. U.S. Central Command has confirmed the operation as a flag verification boarding to ensure full compliance with the blockade. Reports also state that the vessel changed her flag from Curaçao to Iran on the same date, and a vessel name change was also noted. As of 16 July, American forces have redirected three commercial vessels attempting to run the blockade, disabled one vessel that did not comply, and boarded one vessel to ensure full compliance with the ongoing U.S. naval blockade against Iran.
