| Open-sources have reported that two magnetic mines were discovered attached to the hull of a Liberian-flagged LPG carrier during a security inspection whilst anchored off Ust-Luga, Russia (exact time and position not specified). The vessel had arrived from Antwerp, Belgium on 20 May 2026. Russian security service divers discovered the magnetic devices attached to the hull in the area of the engine room. Each mine contained approximately seven kilograms of explosives. The vessel had departed Antwerp on 16 May 2026 and proceeded directly to Ust-Luga with no intermediate stops. The crew were evacuated as a precaution, and the mines were subsequently disarmed. Russian authorities have launched a criminal investigation into the incident. | |||||
