| It has been reported that the Comoros-flagged, Ore/Oil Carrier, KHORYV (IMO 8138712), transmitted a distress call reporting "Mayday, drone attack" whilst underway approximately 13 nautical miles off Constanța, Romania (exact position not specified), on 23 October 2026. The vessel was transiting from Türkiye to Sulina, Romania. The crew reported a fire onboard with a risk of the vessel sinking. The Romanian Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre (MRCC) and Coast Guard have coordinated a search and rescue operation, which is understood to remain ongoing. Open-source reporting [not independently verified by Clearwater]indicates that of thirteen persons reported onboard, one crew member has been confirmed deceased, three remain missing, and nine have been rescued. Further open-source reporting suggests the vessel may have since sunk; this has not been confirmed through the primary incident report. Romanian authorities, in coordination with CPY's security department, continue to investigate the cause of the incident. Clearwater is actively monitoring the situation and will issue updates as further verified information becomes available. | |||||
