It has been reported that there is an active pirate group preparing to take action against merchant vessels off the coast of Somalia. The authorities are currently investigating. UPDATE: The MSCIO have received further information confirming that the threat concerning the Pirate Action Group is still valid. Vessels operating in the area are strongly advised to maintain heightened vigilance, particularly within 150NM off the Somali coast between Mogadishu and Hafun, and report any suspicious activity or relevant information to MSCIO and UKMTO immediately.
