Open-sources have reported that U.S. forces disabled two Iranian-flagged oil tankers attempting to enter an Iranian port in the Gulf of Oman in violation of an ongoing U.S. blockade (exact time and position not specified). U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that a U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet from USS George H.W. Bush disabled the tankers by firing precision munitions into their smokestacks. CENTCOM stated that both vessels are no longer transiting to Iran. Admiral Brad Cooper, CENTCOM Commander, confirmed that U.S. forces in the Middle East remain committed to full enforcement of the blockade of vessels entering or leaving Iran, and that multiple commercial vessels have been disabled and more than 50 have been redirected to ensure compliance.
