Open-sources have reported that U.S. forces intercepted an Iranian-flagged tanker in the Gulf of Oman (exact position not specified). US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that U.S forces intercepted the crude oil tanker at it approached the blockade and voyage towards an Iranian port. Following multiple warnings issued, a US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet, launched from the USS Abraham Lincoln, used a 20mm gun to disable the tanker's rudder.
