The UKMTO have reported that a cargo vessel has been struck by an unidentified projectile whilst operating in the Strait of Hormuz (exact position not specified). A verified source has confirmed that the vessel sustained impact from an unknown projectile; however, the origin of the projectile and the identity of the aggressor have not been established at this time. There are currently no confirmed reports regarding any environmental impact resulting from this incident, and further details on the condition of the vessel and crew have not yet been received. Relevant authorities are reported to be investigating. UPDATE: Further information has been received informing that there is a fire onboard the vessel and that a number of crewmen are wounded. The Oman Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) have called for a rescue operation.
