Open sources have reported that on the afternoon of 3rd July 2025 a Russian missile struck the port of Odesa, Ukraine and killing two persons and injuring six others. The missile struck the port as cargo operations were being conducted from a Sao Tome and Principe-flagged vessel. The two deceased persons are reported to be a dock worker and a truck driver. The six injured persons include a port operations employee, a driver and two Syrian national crew members of the cargo vessel. The Ukrainian Minister for Communities and Territories Development, Oleksii Kuleba stated that port infrastructure including portal cranes and warehouses had sustained damage. The cargo vessel has not been reported to have sustained damage as a result of the missile strike.
