It has been reported that a robbery occurred on a Singapore flagged bulk carrier whilst underway in the Phillip Channel, Singapore Strait. Crew reportedly sighted five perpetrators in the engine room. Generator spare parts were stolen. All ship crew are reported safe; the vessel does not require any assistance and will continue to its next port of call in Singapore. UPDATE: The third engineer was tied up and blindfolded in the engine room by the perpetrators. The stolen property value is approximately $20,000. |
