The UKMTO have reported that a vessel has been struck by an unknown projectile whilst transiting the Strait of Hormuz (approximate position). The status of the crew, damage assessment, and environmental impact are unknown at this time. Authorities are investigating the incident. UPDATE 1: The UKMTO have reported that a fire has broken out onboard the vessel. Local authorities are on scene and are assisting with the evacuation of crew members. UPDATE 2: The Indian Ministry of External Affairs have confirmed that thirteen Indian crew members have been rescued from the vessel, one crew member remains missing and Search and Rescue operations are continuing. UPDATE 3: The Maritime Security Centre for the Sultanate of Oman have confirmed that the the fire onboard has been extinguished and the tanker is being towed to a port in Oman. They have also confirmed that an Oman Naval vessel rescued twenty three crew members from the vessel and a total of two crew members remain missing.
