| It has been reported that, whilst transiting within the area of Calabar, Oron and Ibaka waterways, Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria, a passenger boat, with 22 passengers on board, was attacked by sea pirates (exact position and time not specified). The boat was reportedly intercepted by armed sea robbers shortly after passing Enwang Community. Nigerian Navy personnel, in coordination with security agencies, commenced coordinated efforts to locate the victims and recover the hijacked boat. The security agencies response resulted in the recovery of the hijacked passenger boat and the safe recovery of all 22 passengers. | |||||
