Open-sources have reported that Yemen's Houthi movement conducted a drone strike on Saudi Arabia's Aramco refinery in Jizan on 09 August 2026 (exact time not specified). The Houthi military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, described the strike as precise and stated it was carried out in response to Saudi drone violations of Yemeni airspace. Reports state that there was a fire at the refinery which has since been extinguished. Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Energy confirmed that authorities completed the necessary procedures to deal with the incident and that no injuries were reported. The Ministry's statement did not specify the cause of the fire.
