Open-sources have reported that two tankers were struck by Unmanned Aerial Vehicles whilst at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) marine terminal near Novorossiysk, Black Sea. A Marshall Islands-flagged tanker was attacked at 01:48 UTC (04:48 local time) whilst loading crude oil at single point mooring SPM-3. The UAV struck near the oil-receiving manifolds on the cargo deck, causing a fire which was extinguished by the vessel's crew with assistance from three CPC support vessels. No casualties or oil spill occurred, and the vessel remained afloat with damage assessments underway. Additionally, an Isle of Man-flagged tanker was attacked approximately six nautical miles from the CPC marine terminal whilst en route to receive crude oil. The extent of damage to the second vessel and any crew injuries have not been reported. Oil loading operations at the terminal have been suspended, whilst pipeline facilities continue to operate normally.
