Open-sources have reported that U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) completed a wave of strikes against Iranian military targets. During the five-hour operation, U.S. forces employed precision munitions against Iranian coastal defence systems, missile and drone sites, and maritime capabilities across multiple locations including Bushehr, Chah Bahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa, and Bandar Abbas. The strikes were aimed at degrading Iran's ability to attack commercial shipping. In response, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) conducted retaliatory missile and drone strikes targeting U.S. military facilities in the region. The IRGC confirmed strikes against Camp Arifjan and Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, and Juffair (U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters) and Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain. The IRGC also reported targeting a U.S. military logistics centre at Mina Abdullah in Kuwait. Kuwaiti authorities confirmed that one of its naval vessels was struck during the Iranian attacks, resulting in four military personnel being injured. All injured personnel are reported to be in stable condition following medical treatment. Kuwait did not disclose the precise location of the strike or the extent of damage to the vessel. Iranian statements warned that the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed until U.S. acts of aggression cease, and threatened that regional energy exports would be "for everyone or for no one" if Washington sought to control maritime routes.
