| Open-sources have reported that U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces completed an additional round of strikes against Iran on 8 July 2026 (exact time not specified) to further degrade Iran's ability to attack commercial shipping and civilian mariners in the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. forces struck approximately 90 Iranian military targets including air defence systems, coastal surveillance assets, missile and drone storage sites, naval capabilities, and military logistics infrastructure along Iran's coastline. In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that its naval and aerospace forces launched a joint missile and drone operation against four major U.S. military bases, striking key infrastructure at the Arifjan and Ali al-Salem bases in Kuwait and the Juffair and Sheikh Isa bases in Bahrain. The IRGC warned that any further U.S. aggression would trigger broader and more crushing responses against American military installations across the region. The IRGC also reported that the U.S. attacks struck several areas in Iran's southern coastal provinces, targeting civilian infrastructure and killing one person, while also attacking a bridge in the northern province of Golestan. | |||||
