The UKMTO have reported that a tanker has experienced a fire in the engine room approximately 21nm Northeast of Sohar, Oman (approximate position). Local authorities have reported the incident and continue to investigate. No environmental impact has been reported. Vessels are advised to transit with caution in the area. UPDATE: Open-sources have confirmed that US Central Command conducted a strike on the tanker as it had violated a blockade whilst attempting to transport Iranian oil through the Gulf of Oman.
