The IMB have reported that an armed robbery has occurred onboard a container ship whilst at anchor in Manila Anchorage, Philippines. Four robbers, armed with three guns and a knife, held the duty watchman at gunpoint and forced him to open the bosun's store. The perpetrators tied the watchman's hands with rope before escaping with stolen ship's stores. The watchman subsequently freed himself and alerted the Officer of the Watch, who raised the general alarm and mustered the crew on the bridge. The incident was reported to the port authority.
