Open-sources have reported that a cargo vessel was struck by Unmanned Aerial Vehicle's (UAV) whilst transiting along the Black Sea export route from Ukraine's Odesa region towards Turkey (exact time and position not specified). The Ukrainian Navy confirmed that drones hit the vessel on the morning of 29 May 2026, causing damage to the superstructure and sparking a fire onboard. Ukraine's Maritime Search and Rescue Service, with Navy support, extinguished the fire. Two crew members sustained injuries and were evacuated for medical treatment. No casualties have been reported.
