Open-sources have reported that three U.S. Navy destroyers came under attack while transiting the Strait of Hormuz (exact time and position not specified). The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that the American destroyers USS Truxton, USS Mason and USS Rafael Peralta were attacked by Iranian missiles, drones and small boats. CENTCOM also stated that as a response they eliminated inbound threats and targeted Iranian military facilities responsible for attacking U.S. forces including missile and drone launch sites; command and control locations; and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance nodes. Following the engagement, the three destroyers exited the Persian Gulf and returned to enforcing the naval blockade.
