The UKMTO and IMB have received reports that there was a suspicious approach by two small craft on a container vessel approximately 83nm South East Eyl, Somalia. The Master reported the vessel was approached by two small craft which had two armed perpetrators onboard. Warning shots were fired by the armed security team, after one of the small craft approached within 600m and the small craft returned fire. The small craft then moved away from the container ship and cleared the area. All crew are reported safe and accounted for.
