| It has been reported by MSCIO that an Iranian-flagged dhow has been hijacked by possible pirates whilst operating approximately 400nm East of Mogadishu, Somalia (exact location not specified). UPDATE 1: Further information has been received informing that the last known position of the fishing vessel is approximately 04° 40.00S, 049° 29.00 E, 480nm Southeast of Mogadishu. Operation ATALANTA is currently investigating. UPDATE 2: The MSCIO have released further information that the hijacked dhow now in position 01° 40.00S, 047° 22.00 E, is being monitored closely by EUNAVFOR OP ATALANTA. It poses no current threat to vessels. UPDATE 3: Further information has been received stating that EUNAVFOR ATALANTA, along with the Somalian authorities, have rescued the hijacked dhow. All crew have been marked as safe. | |||||
