It has been reported that there has been an attempted robbery onboard a Palau-flagged tanker whilst underway in the Eastbound Lane of the Traffic Separation Scheme, Phillip Channel, Singapore Strait. Seven perpetrators armed with knives were discovered in the engine room. The Captain reported that all crew were safe, the vessel was escorted by the Singapore Coast Guard and reported to the VTIS. Nothing has been discovered missing so far.
