It has been reported that there has been a robbery onboard a Marshall Islands flagged container ship while at anchor in Manila, Philippines. Reports state the duty crew noted that the cover of the hawse pipe of the starboard anchor had been opened. After the Second Officer was informed, the General Alarm and Typhoon Alarm were raised immediately to alert all crew members. A full search of the vessel was conducted; however, no perpetrators were found on board. The incident was reported to Vessel Traffic Management System Corregidor and Coast Guard Manila, and Coast Guard Manila immediately directed the duty MARPAT team to verify the incident, who also advised the Master to strengthen onboard security measures and increase riving duties to prevent similar incidents. All crew have been confirmed safe.
