It has been reported that an explosion occurred on a Russian-flagged LNG carrier approximately 20nm East of Malta. Reports state that a series of explosions were reported and that the crew were rescued and transferred to a vessel operating nearby after an aircraft was dispatched to the location by the Armed forces of Malta. Multiple reports state that LNG carrier is part of Russia's shadow fleet. Some reports indicate the vessel may have been struck by a drone but the cause of the explosions have not been confirmed.
