The UKMTO have received a report that a Saint Kitts flagged tug was attacked while underway 70NM south of Aden. One small craft with five persons onboard approached the vessel, and it was followed by an exchange of small arms fire. It has been reported that two additional skiffs were also in the vicinity. Vessels are advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity. UPDATE: It has been assessed that this incident involved a local joint security force who fired warning shots to establish communication with the vessel as their VHF hails had been ignored
