It has been reported that there has been a robbery on a container ship whilst anchored in Port Rabaul Anchorage, Papua New Guinea . Further more it was reported that robbers in a canoe , armed with machetes approached the container ship. The duty crew spotted a robber on deck and raised the alarm, immediately. It was further reported that the crew were ordered to stay inside the accommodation area and secure all access doors There was a failed call to the port authorities and a call to the local agent to raise the authorities. On inspection it was discovered that two life rafts had been stolen. Reports state that the next day patrol boats arrived and recovered one of the life rafts , that had been deployed and was unusable, and on docking the Customer Border Protection Officials boarded the ship for more investigations. The ships crew were all safe and in good health.
