It has been reported on open-sources that an Iranian Shahed-139 drone suspiciously approached the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN, United States-flagged aircraft carrier, before being shot down by a U.S. jet fighter, whilst transiting the Arabian Sea (exact position and time not specified). Reports state that the Iranian drone had approached the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN with "unclear intent". Further reports from Iranian media outlets state that the Iranian drone had "conducted its routine and lawful mission over international waters" and had "successfully transmitted its reconnaissance and surveillance images to the command centre" before a "loss of communication".
