It has been reported that there is an increased risk of piracy from a possible Pirate Action Group, currently operating off Gabon. It was reported that at approximately 17:00 UTC on 1st February 2026, a small boat with a 200hp Yamaha engine and armed perpetrators onboard was spotted heading towards Nigeria from Libreville, Gabon.
