Open-sources have reported that a Comoros-flagged oil tanker has been intercepted and detained by the French Navy in the Mediterranean Sea (exact position and time not specified). Initial reports state the vessel, which had set sail from the Russian port of Murmansk, was suspected of operating under a false flag and was violating international sanctions. The French Navy have reported that the operation was carried out under Article 110 of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
