It has been reported by MSCIO that a Chinese flagged fishing vessel has been boarded by a number of perpetrators 5nm off the coast of Kulule, Somalia. The authority's are investigating. UPDATE 1: EUNAVFOR have reported that the fishing vessel has been hijacked, and they suspect the perpetrators are on route to the Somalian coast to request a ransom. UPDATE 2: Recent reports state that the vessel is currently at port in Kululu, Somalia. Further reports have noted that there were nine passengers abducted by the pirates at the time of the incident. Local authorities have confirmed that seven of the perpetrators currently remain onboard the fishing vessel. UPDATE 3: Further reports state that the vessel has been released and the incident is considered closed.
