It has been reported that there has been an attempted robbery on a Marshall Islands-flagged tanker while underway in the Eastbound Lane of the Phillip Channel, Singapore Strait. Two perpetrators armed with knives boarded the vessel and were discovered in the engine room. The Captain informed that the crew and vessel are safe, and that nothing has been reported as stolen. The tanker did not require any assistance and continued her voyage to Vietnam. UPDATE: Further information has been received stating that after an inspection a number of auxiliary engine spare parts had been stolen.
