It has been reported that there has been a robbery on a Bahamas-flagged tanker whilst anchored at Balongan anchorage, Indonesia. The 1st Assistant Engineer observed three perpetrators exiting the engine room through the internal door leading to the steering gear room. The Captain was notified and the alarm was raised. As a result, the robbers escaped the vessel by jumping overboard and fleeing on a high-speed craft. The crew were mustered, and an inspection was conducted where it was discovered that items of ship's stores had been stolen. All crew were reported as safe.
