It has been reported that there has been an attempted robbery on a Marshall Islands-flagged bulk carrier whilst underway in the Eastbound Lane of the Traffic Separation Scheme of the Phillip Channel, Singapore Strait. Duty crew reported seeing two unarmed perpetrators in the engine room. The Captain reported that all the crew are safe and that after a search was conducted, no perpetrators were found, and nothing has been reported as stolen. The vessel did not require any assistance and continued her voyage to Singapore. UPDATE: Further information has been received from the IFC stating that the CSO had said that there were four perpetrators involved.
