It has been reported that an attempted robbery took place on board a France-flagged container ship while underway in the Phillip Channel, Singapore Strait. The crew reported finding a broken lock when conducting security rounds at anchorage in Singapore following their transit. Upon review of security footage, they identified six robbers armed with knives and a gun-like object had boarded the vessel via the chock liner on the poop deck when the vessel had been underway. The perpetrators had then fled due to an alarm in the engine room sounding. Following the incident, all crew are reported as safe and nothing had been stolen.
