It has been reported that an attempted robbery took place on board a bulk carrier whilst transiting through the Singapore Strait. Four robbers, one armed with a gun, boarded the vessel and attacked a fitter, striking him twice over the head to subdue him. The crew raised the alarm and mustered, causing the perpetrators to flee empty handed. Coast guard boarded the vessel to assist and all crew members were reported safe.
