| It has been reported that an attack took place on board a passenger boat whilst underway from Port Harcourt to Bonny, Nigeria. The Nigerian Police reported that passenger boats were being diverted by the perpetrators into a nearby creek near Zion fishing port. A police patrol craft was dispatched after the authorities were informed of the incident by the driver of another passenger vessel in the area. As the patrol boat arrived at the scene, the perpetrators abandoned their attempts and escaped into the mangroves. It is reported that three passengers were recovered unharmed by the Police personnel, and that the intervention had also prevented attempts on other passenger boats. | |||||
