It has been reported that there has been an attempted robbery on a Marshall Islands-flagged bulk carrier, whilst underway in the Philip Channel, Singapore Strait. The crew spotted five perpetrators, two were armed with gun-like objects in the engine room. The Master has reported that all crew are safe and that nothing has been reported stolen. The bulk carrier is continuing to her next port of call in Singapore. UPDATE: It has been reported by the IMB that the crew had mustered and that engine spares were stolen before the perpetrators escaped. The Singapore Police Coast Guard boarded the vessel for investigation.
