It has been reported that there has been a attempted robbery onboard a Marshall Islands-flagged tanker while underway in the Phillip Channel, Singapore Strait. Five perpetrators were seen on the main deck. The Captain reported that all crew were safe, the vessel did not require any assistance, and that nothing had been stolen. The tanker continued on her voyage to Thailand. UPDATE: The IMB has confirmed that the robbers were armed with knives, and upon further investigation, engine stores were found to be stolen following the incident.
