It has been reported by the UKMTO that there has been a maritime incident onboard a Marshall Islands-flagged tanker approximately 508nm East of Mogadishu, Somalia. The vessel reported that there was a fire in the engine room however it has since been extinguished. The extent of damage to the engines are not known due to the engine room flooding. The vessel is not currently taking on water but is drifting. The Indian Navy provided emergency medical assistance to a member of the crew and have now disembarked the tanker. The crew remains onboard. Military authorities have been informed.
