It has been reported that there has been an attempted robbery onboard a tanker whilst anchored at Beira anchorage, Mozambique. Duty crew sighted eight perpetrators armed with knives and immediately informed the bridge. The alarm was raised, a ship wide announcement made, the crew mustered, and the authorities contacted. As a result, the robbers escaped on their boat. The tanker was searched it was discovered that items of ship's properties had been stolen. The local police were later able to recover the stolen goods.
