It has been reported that an attempted robbery occurred on a Norway-flagged bulk carrier whilst underway in the Phillip Channel. Duty crew spotted four robbers armed with knives and gun-like objects in the engine room, which resulted in the perpetrators escaping. The Master confirmed that all crew were safe and accounted for and that nothing had been reported stolen. UPDATE: The IMB have received further information that the 3rd engineer was restrained by the robbers but was able to escape and raise the alarm. A full search was completed which confirmed that ship's spares had been stolen by the perpetrators.
