| It has been reported that there has been a kidnapping onboard a fishing vessel off Libreville, Gabon (exact location not specified). While operating 15nm from the shore the vessel was boarded by pirates. The perpetrators destroyed the communication systems, threatened the crew, and kidnapped the Captain, Chief Engineer, and one crewmember. All the kidnapped crew were Senegalese nationals. The remainder of the crew have moved the vessel to the Port-Gentil and the Gabonese have sent a military vessel to the location to investigate. UPDATE: It has been reported that the three kidnapped crewmembers were released on 19th February 2025. | |||||
