It has been reported that there has been an attempted robbery onboard a St Kitts Nevis-flagged bulk carrier while underway in the Phillip Channel, Singapore Strait. The Crew spotted two perpetrators armed with gun-like objects in the engine room . The Master has reported all crew are safe and that no items have been stolen. The vessel is continuing her voyage to Singapore. UPDATE: IMB have released further information. After spotting the perpetrators, duty crew alerted the Bridge, raised the alarm, activated SSAS and notified the Vessel Traffic Service. After a period of lockdown in the engine control room, bridge and cabins, the crew conducted a thorough search of the vessel and reported that engine spares had been stolen. Upon arrival at anchorage, coast guard boarded the vessel to commence an investigation.
