It has been reported that a robbery occurred on a Liberia-flagged bulk carrier whilst underway in the Phillip Channel, Singapore Strait. Up to five robbers, armed with gun-like objects were spotted by duty crew in the steering gear room which resulted in the perpetrators escaping. The bulk carrier was boarded by the Singapore Police Coast Guard for investigation where it was confirmed that some spare parts and a fuel pump had been stolen.
